Come March With Us This July 4th

The Fourth of July in Bala Cynwyd is one of those things that feels like it's been happening forever, because it basically has. The Neighborhood Club of Bala Cynwyd has been putting on this parade since 1916, and Union Fire Association has been a part of it just about as long.

This year, we're leading the parade again. The whole procession kicks off right here at the firehouse at 149 Montgomery Avenue. If you want to march, show up by 8:45am, and we step off at 9:30. The route winds through the neighborhood, east on Montgomery to Bryn Mawr, down to Union Ave, over to Bala, and finishes up at the Bala Cynwyd Playground around 10:30 for a patriotic ceremony and the big celebration.

The playground is where the party really gets going, and that's where you'll find us. We'll have a booth set up, and we'd love to see you there. Come say hello, grab a hot dog and a soft pretzel, and spend a few minutes with your neighbors from the fire company.

A lot of people don't realize that UFA runs on a combination of Township funding and community donations. The Township support is essential, but it doesn't cover everything. Events like this are a chance to connect with the people we serve, and if you've been thinking about making a donation, our booth is a great place to start that conversation.
